Course description: This course examines whether memory and imagination merely preserve information or can generate new knowledge and justification. Drawing on philosophy and cognitive science, we explore the constructive nature of episodic simulation and its implications for the epistemology of memory and imagination, with particular attention to cases such as early childhood memory and representations of events experienced by other people.
